The Zombie Action Committee will present Dottie’s Coffee Lounge proprietor Jessica Lamb with a newly created award at its inaugural swearing in ceremony next Wednesday, January 25.
The new Designated Safe House Award, created by an executive act of the Chancellor, is designed to recognize establishments, business owners and other community partners who have shown outstanding, above-and-beyond support to the cause of zombie awareness.
Dotties Coffee Lounge has twice graciously played host as an opening rallying point for the Committee’s most popular annual educational event, the Zombie Pub Crawl. As Pittsfield became one of the smallest recognized cities participating in World Zombie Day this past October, the popular downtown hotspot held up admirably under the onslaught of throngs of enthusiastic activists, reporters and film crews from multiple television stations.
